The Queen Of Personal Development Ponders The Real You
Nicola Grace - There are no greater statements that urks the Queen of Personal Development more than “that’s just the way I am” or “that’s just me”. When you are on a path of self improvement or spiritual awakening, you come to know yourself as made up of many different facets including mind, body, spirit, soul, person, man or woman, young or mature. We’re such complex beings that it doesn’t stop there. Within the mind is the sub-conscious, the unconscious, the conscious and super conscious. We also have a psyche, an ego and personality. We also have a soul purpose, and that purpose is to expand.
So when someone declares they are a certain way and that’s just how it is, it’s a fundamental declaration that they don’t know who they are and they are not interested in expanding. For in truth much of how we are made up as personalities, men and women, is a culmination of learned, mirrored and programmed responses. It’s not who we are at all. These responses form part of our personality and this is the very thing we are here to expand from. Well at least if you are on a personal development path that would be the case.
To say “it’s just the way I am” is also an admission that there is no interest in moving past programming or adopted responses, to become a more authentic and grander version of one’s self. So why does that urk me? Well, have you ever been in a relationship where someone has said that or something similar to you? Did you notice how the communication pretty much came to an end? Have you said it yourself to someone?
It urks me because it shuts communication down with the various aspects of yourself and others. It urks me because it’s a lazy thing to say. It urks me because it does not acknowledge you have a choice. It urks me because everyone has great value and grandeur within them, that this world desperately needs you to shine. So to shut down from your soul’s purpose to expand, and not be active in your own personal and self development, is a loss for this world.
For me, (hi there, I’m Nicola Grace), the road of personal development, self improvement or expansion and spiritual awakening is what has bought the joy and results in my life. I’ve seen that path bring so much joy and fantastic results in other people’s lives too. It’s my passion to live and teach expansion through your soul’s purpose, because that’s where our greatest joy is – and after all isn’t happiness what we all want? So the next time you find yourself going to say “it’s just the way I am”, know that’s not true. The way you are is how you choose to be in any given moment. You do have choice and that choice sets you free to expand into your greatness.
